If I had a place to stay, maybe.  But it's kinda become a copfest these days, hasn't it?

albeit safer..

I've attended the Thunderride as a spectator almost every year since its existence,  and although it was a real rush to stand on the sidewalk, and watch bike-after-bike do stunts/wheelies along the main-street, there were times when bikes veered towards and into the spectating crowd,  scattering kids, strollers, old folks, dogs etc.  When spectators got hurt,  the local LEO's and Town Council heard about it,  in spades..

Most of the participants/riders of the Rally are visitors to Parry Sound,  and some behave like they don't need to worry about what image, damage, or mayhem they make or leave behind.   The town locals do though, so Town council has responded by having a much stronger and visible law enforcement contingent.

Works for me..  cuz I'm usually just a spectator and a volunteer.  Sometimes watching squid-on-a-rope is fun to..

p.s.  I'm supposed to be at the business end of the gun for the Radar Run on Saturday morning.  Go as fast as you can/want, but keep 'er between the yellow lines and everything's cool..  Oh,  be sure to sign the waiver..

C'ya at the Brunswick..

I find it kind of funny that eveyone blames the "stunters"  for all the bad things that happen to our motorcycle community.  I attented last year, and there wasnt much of a stunt crowd in the thunderrun, however, I did hear alot of motorcycle heating up because of such a slow pace.

As well, there were alot of cops sitting on the highways making sure that no one went over the speedlimit. I agree that there was an overwhelming presence of police last year.... way too much for my liking.  But try not to exclude the speeders, irratic drivers, and cages for the problems. stunting isnt the only problem that arises.

I have a bunch of budies in that area in the opp.....a couple of them have mentioned to me that they pull in "extras" (from other detachements)  to ensure public saftey.....so anyone going- I would watch your speed for sure.....
It seems to me there is tension building in some of the local stunters ( or not)- I figured I may as well throw in my two cents worth....I think watching the stunters strut their stuff is cool as hell and my hat is off to them...If you wanna risk your own neck by kicking it on the street then give er!!! what ever gets it done for ya, although I cant help to say it does raise the eyebrows of local law enforcement and other bone headed people that just don't get it....
people will always stereo type- one maniac biker means ALL bikers, but what do you do? to thoses people all you can say is go f yourself....if your playing by the rules then you have nothing to worry about...if you are playing the game you may have to pay the price...that is the chance you take by bending the rules-in the end we are all responsible only for our own actions......
but then again...what the hell do I know?
now.........all i have to do is find a chickie willing to try that endo trick!!!(and the skill to pull it off!!!!!!!)  :D :D

I agree with you snerchie...  to each their own.  I dont stunt... (wish I could). I have tried it, scares me too much and I like my bike too much to wreck it.... but I still wish I had the talent to be able to pull a 100Km/h wheelie for miles.  I have so much respect for people who have as much control of their motorcycle to do high chairs down the dragstrip or out on the highway. Just as much respect for someone who can run lap times on the track with the best of them.

Non the less, it is getting tiring of people always blaming stunters for bad things that happen in the world.  I have been on so many rides and I see so much other things wrong with people riding on motorcycles other than stunting... people racing,  riding dangerously (passing, cornering incorectly  etc...etc...).

I realize that this site isn't a big fan of people stunting on the streets, but in the end, we are all in the same group... MOTORCYCLE ENTHUSIASTS....

I hope that I make at least some sense here, I am not preaching, take what I say very weakly.... I dont mean to piss off the wrong person.  I am just voicing my opinion about the touchy subject.

You guys are right on the $.  There are some extrodinarily talented stunt riders out there. I wish I could manipulate my machine like they do.

I don't think the street is the right place for it though.
