When to start the 2007 rides, folks?
« on: April 02, 2007, 11:38:08 pm »
When should we start the rides, ladies and gents?  My vote is next Thursday or maybe this Saturday.  I think the roads should be good enough for all of us by then (there's a few new-ish riders that might want to come out).

Let me know and I'll start showing up at the Horton's.

Other questions: Thursday night still work for people, or is Wednesday night better?  It is for me, but it ain't up to this guy...

I need to get new tires and my ECM re-mapped before I will be able to go on any long rides...

PS. I think it is suppose to snow on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

I just heard.  It better not, because they'll salt the crap outta the roads again. :(

I need some practice before going down to Deal's Gap this year.  Speaking of which there is a bed left in the house... $110 USD to stay the week.

Thursdays work better than Wednesdays for us as Mags works till 7:30 every Wed.

Do most people even have their bikes on the road yet? I know I am unusual in that I ride pretty much year round but I haven't seen a lot of bikes besides the Hardleys and such riding around.

I've spent about an hour out.  Busy as usual is one reason, reason #2 is that I hate getting this much salt on my bikes.

I haven't rode with any group members from this forum yet, but have been lurking on the forums for a while now.
I'm looking forward to the weekday/weekend ride hookups.

I was wondering if there was going to be some sort of "newbie" ride (I think this was attempted last year?  I think I was out of town).  As a suggestion, it may be a good idea to gather up any newbies to the group (like myself) for an orientation of this group's riding protocols, pace and routes.  I'd definitely participate.

PS - Really like the new look of the forum

I would *love* to have a newbie ride.  However, my time constraints are such that I can't possibly set it up this spring myself.  It's been a busy two and a half years and another couple months should put me in a position to take a breather so maybe we can have a mid-summer newbie ride when the roads are clear.

It's not a bad plan, really.

We plan on being out on Sat. as long as the weather is ok. Can you believe yesterday I was out for a little tour up around Kingston mills, Lower Brewers Mill, and Upper Brewers Mill. Now I wake up and there is a couple inches of snow on the ground and it's still snowing!!!!

This SUCKS!
