Hey Shaman...
« on: August 07, 2007, 08:35:06 pm »
...sorry you didn't make it out for the Mosport Vintage Festival this past weekend. The  weather turned out great despite the incredibly hot weather we started out with on Thurs heading to Mosport. But the weekend actually dropped down into the high 20's which was a relief from the high 30's on Thurs.
You missed some great racing and all around fun time. My bike worked perfectly this weekend...finally!
I finished 16 over all in my class out of 40 something entries and my best lap time was a 1:48.315. Considering I've never raced at Mosport before I was very pleased.
Perhaps next year you'll be able to make it.  ::)

That's a very good lap time!  I trust that Barry's ministrations finally brought the package together?  You have to show a Kawasaki who the boss is, as you know.

Between family, friends and f#$kin' around, my time was pretty well spent all the same, although I would have loved to do some laps on the big track.

P.S. I think I may be in for a change.  I hear whispers that the 1998 R1 may be legal next year?  Hrm...

Sounds like fun! What kind of bike do you race?

It is a lot of fun! I've raced the last two years in the Women's Cup Challenge mostly out of Shannonville. However, I'm a more "mature" rider in age, lol, and despite it being fun, I wasn't very competitive with the top women. My bike was an '02 zx6r then
Hence this year I switched to Vintage Racing (VRRA) and I'm having a blast. In my class of almost 50 riders at Mosport I was only one of two women racing and as I said before I finished 16th. This was my first time at Mosport racing, so I was pleased.
My new to me, old bike is a 1989 EX500.
If anyone is at all interested in racing and doesn't want all the pressure of racing in Armature 600, vintage racing is the way to go. ;D
Here is pic of me at the first RACE round this year taken by Flair Photo, I'm #195
