Parade Laps @ Calabogie!!!
« on: September 14, 2007, 03:44:41 pm »
Anyone want to ride to Calabogie for parade laps  on the track tomorrow?

There's a big meet at Murphy's Landing around 3pm too, if anyone wants.

I'm game!

Awesome day at the track - great weather, minimal red flag delays, lots of track time.

It was especially amusing watching this dude in our group of advanced riders/racers who was putting on a cornering clinic on a circa 1985 gpz550. This guy railed through the corners carrying so much corner speed he put most bikes that i saw (including me) to shame. Considering most of the bikes out there were litre-bikes it was pretty impressive watching him go around everyone through the twisty sections and gain enough ground that all that horsepower couldn't catch him between most corners. Very good lesson on rider ability vs bike size/power. Don't know who he was but he was flyin on that beat up old bike.

Best of all i managed to keep it upright and not break myself or the bike. The only mis-adventure i had was when i lost a foot peg and shift lever during one session.....hmm i'll have to talk to the Sato rep about that although i have a feeling he'll say something about installation problem....

Hahaha... you have to love that.  Wonder if it was Steve Bond or Larry Tate?

Glad to hear you had a good time and kept the rubber side down, not that you'd want to bump up your surgery date, lol.

Welcome to the world of VRRA racing.  ;)
I've been tell'n ya those old geezers are fast and you'll have a blast race'n with them. If you had problem keeping up with him on your 600, just image how it'll feel on you FZ400? Hate to break your bubble, but that bike can run in our class...P4 F3, sigh.
Welcome to MY world, lol.
