Moto GP race Sunday
« on: October 31, 2007, 10:18:07 am »
Some of us from the Napanee and surrounding area are getting together at the Red Rock Canyon to watch the final round of Moto GP. An area  near the large screen TV has been reserved. Everyone welcome.

Red Rock Canyon, Belleville
613-966-8210
SE Corner of North Front St. and Bell Blvd.
Sunday November 4th
Racing starts at 5 for the 250cc and 6 for the Moto GP Finale.

In attendance: the usual disreputable types!

Sounds like fun.  Not sure if I'll be around but if I am, it's all good.

Yup...it was a good race and the food was excellent! Had  way too much to eat. The ribs were more like brontosaurus ribs and the Mud Pie dessert with chocolate brownie covered with both hot fudge and Carmel sauce was to die for.  ;D Sorry you missed it.

Wish I could.  I felt just about as miserable as I ever have this weekend.  Spent 20 minutes just shivering under three blankets.

Not Steve's favourite weekend, for sure.

I was reading about one of the riders at the GP this weekend who was wearing a Dainese prototype set of leathers with AIRBAGS in them which he tested in a get off. They have 3 accelerometers hooked up to a gyroscope which detects motions that are beyond the normal racing movements - like getting suddenly tossed skyward. Dainese figures they'll be on the retail market in 3 years. Sounds pretty cool.

Anybody else notice that Rossi has turned from winner to whinner this year: my bike breaks, the tires don't stick, stoner doesn't weigh enough, the tires again.....and to keep him happy the series almost went to a single/spec tire because they're scared silly that he'll quit and go race cars.....So next year his factory Yamaha will run bridgestones - so michelin must be impressed since they have ( or had) a sponsorship agreement with yamaha.....but what Rossi wants, Rossi gets. Personally i'm glad there is more than one guy in the series that can win....

Well Rossi will go down in history as one of the greatest racers in history, however it would seem there is a changing of the guard taking place. It was going to happen eventually.
