« on: January 25, 2008, 03:23:44 pm »
I am looking for a dry nitrous kit for my 955i but do not want to have to add another fuel pump....I also can't seem to find anything compatible with the stock EFI control to richen the mixture during spray....anyone have any ideas?

Think you'll need a PC III or TuneBoy for adjusting the mixture, but i don't know anything about nitrous systems....other than if ya do it wrong it goes boom in a big way. Interesting project, keep us posted.

If it's upside down and burning, you've gone too fast....

Yep I either have to replace the ECU, or piggyback one on to give me more fuel during spray....I am going to use a 1lb bottle (about 20 sec total spray time with a 20 Hp nozzle) which is a pretty small shot so it should be fine....The only problem is that the existing computer automatically screws with the existing mapping on an ongoing basis so I am not sure how it will react.
It is already a pain in the neck...I would love to be able to replace it with something aftermarket....or at least lock it so it doest keeping making changes.
I spoke to someone at Tuneboy several months ago, and apparently getting the software to work on the triumph is somewhat of a challenge, but CAN be done...also not that useful without a dyno.
If I can get the kit installed and working I figure I can just not use it until I find someone in town with a dyno that can help me tune it.
I did finally manage to find a turbo kit that looked to be quite promising, and I almost ordered it...until I realized that 3500 British pounds is damn near $7000 Canadian.......So much for that idea.
I'll keep you posted on my progress....

Just to be a party pooper.... are you aware NOX kits are illegal here. Your biggest challenge will be to hide the tank.

Yeah but that wasn't a big concern....after I really looked into it, it turned out to not be such a great idea....I was going to have problems trying to get a tank filled, and I would have to be constantly taking the tank on and off the bike....apparently a full bottle of Nitrous doesn't do too well with sitting in the sun....common sense really- but the extra ponies would have been nice.
guess I'll just have to learn how to ride better!!! ;D
