Do it myself, or...
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:55:59 am »
I'm shortly going to be bolting together my project bike.  It's got carbon fibre wheels and will have Braketech CMC rotors on it (total weight savings to front wheel: ~10 lbs), so I have some fears about headshake.

So I suppose the question is... do I pull my stock steering dampener off and put some 20 weight oil in it ($10) or do I put a HyperPro on it ($450)?  I don't think I'll need a range of adjustments, I keep my track bike dampener cinched up tight and it doesn't give me problems in the pits.

I suppose I could just try out the oil change, but I figure someone here must have tried this and have some advice.
