Yeah, but the old bike had no shortage of torque. I was going through a tire in 2,000km last year... rode 'em out to 4500 teetering around on a squared tire.

First gear doesn't need to go that fast... but then again on Shannonville's Nelson setup I think it would be pretty good... I'd only have to shift out of first twice (maybe three times). Or just leave it in 2nd.
