Anyone going out tonight or this weekend?
« on: September 22, 2005, 02:54:41 pm »
I'm probably going somewhere tonight (will go to the usual spot) and saturday too, no matter what the gas prices are.

 >:(

Anyone interested?

Hi Steve,

Unless it rains I will meet you for 9:30 on Saturday at Tim Hortons. I'm gonna take it easy, this will be like my first ride in a long time and I have to scrub in my new  Diablo Strada's :-)

I have to be back for 2:00 pm on Saturday, promised the kids I would take them flying.

K00l.  You can tear off any time.  I think I'll be bringing the Sprint so I doubt I'll be doing warp speed.  Jim and I were talking about a general route today... good 650km route for us anyways, maybe more.

My next tires are Pilot Powers.

Know two guys with them that have got over 5,000km out of a litre supersport.  I've averaged 3000km out of my BT014s before they just start spinning up and/or have almost no tread left.  I've gone through three rear tires this year and only have 6700km on the gixxer (yeah, the first one went to Deal's Gap so it hardly counts).

I used my rear 180 Pilot Power  on both the GSXR600 and GSXR1000.  I got about 1000 Kms on the 600 and almost 6000 Kms on the 1000.   The tire is just starting to show a line.... I have even done better this year with wearing the sides off. Made a few trips out to calabogie, griffith... etc...etc...  but that tire is great.  That tire is so sticky, when it was warm... it was so hard to get it to burn out.... would just keep gripping the pavement and shooting me forward.... I had to grab a huge handfull of front brake. I was never concerned about cornering speeds.... I am definately going to get another set.

Thanks for the ride, guys... probably my last good "given'r" weekend ride until next year. :(

I went about 150km more, all over the place up north, etc.

Little problem, the Triumph was weeping a little oil on the right hand side of the motor at the oil filler cap.  Not sure whether it's from pressure in the engine (blow-by... ugh, hope not) or a little over-fill, or just a lose oil cap, but the cap seemed alright if not tight.
