There's a used 1000 sitting at Tony's too.

Right beside my 2003 GSX-R 1000 with a "HOLD" sign on it. :(

So in other words, you plan to die an old person with your 650S?

Yes.  It won't be long until a 650S is insane to insure then I'll have to drop down to a 500.

Yeah. Insurance is a pain. I'm happy with the $950 / year (more or less) I pay for my GS500. That's why I wanted a smaller bike. Insurance in Ontario is just too damn expensive,

I'm currently on an M2, so my insurance is higher. When I first got my M1, my insurance was $1200. As soon as I got my M1, I told my insurance company (Cooperators) and they issued me a refund of about $250. Once I get a full M class in 2007, my rates will drop even more.

As to exactly HOW they come up with their ridiculous rates, I haven't a clue.
