Take a look. Worth considering, if you have a matching HJC.

Frank Wilson Fromer pro open champion for Suzuki, Died of head injuries after crashing during a practise session at Shannonville in 1999 or 2000. He was wearing an HJC.
HJC and Icon are the same company, I hope this doesn't carry over to the Icon line.

As the adage goes; you get what you pay for.
The CL and CS helmets refered to in the article are the bottom of the HJC line up, not intended for racing use in the first place. If I was planning to hit the racing circuit, I certainly wouldn't do it wearing a $99.99 Helmet. Would you?

Frank Wilson was a friend of mine. During his racing career he had been knocked unconscious 4 times (that i know of) -- he had a history of severe concussions. His death is probably not entirely the fault of the helmet -- the brain can only sustain so many blows regardless of what brand of helmet you're wearing. No arguing the importance of wearing a good helmet though. One of my helmets is the HJC model in question. It s Snell rating at the time i bought it was the highest available to bike helmets -- why wouldn't you trust it? You can't equate the quality of a helmet with the price -- most of them you are paying an inflated price for the name brand and/or paint job on it. That's what the ratings are supposed to be there for but i think when your numbers up, its up.
